Rock picked up on a walk south of the Akakus Mountains in Central Sahara and carried for a week in my backpack

My work for The Phylogenesis of Generosity is based on seven day walks in the Central Sahara desert along the border of Algeria, Libya and Niger. The region is uninhabited and deserted for 5000 years but rock drawings of tribes who lived there before tell us about landscape with lakes, pastures and fields. I found the rock I used for the show on a sandy plain in the hot morning sun after leaving my camp next to one of these rock drawings.
